CM Yogi : The recruitment process of clerical cadre should be started immediately

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath reviewed the progress of academic activities and construction works of Maa Pateshwari State University in Balrampur, Maa Vindhyavasini State University in Mirzapur and Guru Jambheshwar State University in Moradabad at a high-level meeting held at his official residence today. Vice-Chancellors of all the three universities were also present at the meeting. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the official website and logo of Guru Jambheshwar University.

CM Yogi said that it would not be proper to consider these new universities as mere educational institutions, but they should be considered as part of the visionary vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to provide quality, job-oriented and accessible higher education to the youth of every district. He also said that this initiative will not only free higher education in the state from regional imbalances but will also give a more inclusive and equitable shape to the education system.

CM Yogi directed that in the first phase, the construction of administrative and academic buildings as well as the Vice-Chancellor’s residence should be completed in a time-bound and high-quality manner. In the second phase, the work of hostels and other residential buildings should be taken forward at a faster pace. He asked to ensure deployment of at least 500 workers at construction sites so that speed and quality of work is maintained.

CM Yogi  directed the deployment of permanent registrars, controller of examinations and controller of finance in the universities and made it clear that no additional charge or temporary arrangement would be accepted on these posts. At the same time, instructions were also given to start the appointment process of clerical cadre immediately.

Regarding the recruitment of teachers, he said that the process of post creation should be completed in the next three days and the advertisement should be issued and the selection process should start as soon as possible. He also directed the universities to release necessary funds on non-salary basis and develop smart classes and theatre rooms.

CM Yogi asked the Vice Chancellors to start admission to postgraduate courses in the university campuses and set up necessary laboratories for the same.

In the meeting, CM Yogi was apprised of the progress of the projects of the three universities:

Maa Pateshwari University, Balrampur: Total sanctioned amount ₹163.52 crore, so far ₹83.47 crore released, work started in June 2024 and targeted to be completed by December 2025. At present there are 435 employees.

Maa Vindhyavasini University, Mirzapur: Total contract value ₹154.15 cr, released so far ₹88.53 cr, work to start from Aug 2024 and to be completed by Feb 2026.

Guru Jambheshwar University, Moradabad. Project cost ₹169.58 cr, ₹77.93 cr released so far, works to start from July 2024, target to be completed by February 2026. This includes administrative, academic buildings, hostels, residential complexes, police outposts and outlying development.

CM Yogi directed that all the construction works should be completed within the stipulated time frame and there should be no compromise on quality. He said that the technical quality should be checked by expert agencies and progress reports should be prepared from time to time.

CM Yogi also said that the courses of the universities should be designed keeping in mind the local needs, regional resources and contemporary employment prospects so that the students not only get a degree but also acquire technical proficiency, practical knowledge and modern skills.

In the end, CM Yogi expressed confidence that these universities coming up in Balrampur, Mirzapur and Moradabad would become major centres of research, innovation, cultural consciousness, moral education and skill development in the future and would play an important role in the overall development of the state.
