The party accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of compromising national interests and disregarding the sacrifices of Indian soldiers in pursuit of diplomatic engagement with China.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Congress alleged that the move reflects a “deal” with China, claiming that the government is prioritizing ties with Beijing over the memory of 20 Indian soldiers who died in the 2020 Galwan Valley clash.
“The Chinese company TikTok’s website has started operating in India. In a clash with China, 20 of our brave soldiers were martyred. Initially, Narendra Modi gave China a clean chit. When Congress exerted pressure, the app was banned to manage headlines,” the party said in its post.
