Cooper Connolly IPL Century Breaks Quinton de Kock’s Long-Standing Record
Before the Cooper Connolly IPL Century, the record belonged to Quinton de Kock, who had scored a century for Delhi Capitals against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2016 at the age of 23 years and 122 days.
That record remained untouched for nearly a decade until Connolly surpassed it on Wednesday. The Australian batter reached the milestone at the age of 22 years and 257 days, making the Cooper Connolly IPL Century a historic achievement in IPL history.
Fighting Knock in Losing Cause
The Cooper Connolly IPL Century came during a difficult chase for Punjab Kings. Chasing 236 runs, Punjab lost both openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh cheaply in the second over itself. Captain Shreyas Iyer also failed to make an impact and managed just five runs.
Despite wickets falling regularly at the other end, Connolly played a mature and aggressive innings. He remained unbeaten on 107 runs off 59 balls, smashing eight sixes and seven boundaries.

Apart from Connolly, only Marcus Stoinis and Suyash Shedge made notable contributions. Stoinis scored 28 runs off 14 balls, while Shedge added 25 runs from 17 deliveries.
Shashank Singh managed just four runs before getting dismissed when Punjab Kings were already close to defeat. However, Connolly continued his impressive batting display and completed his century in style.
