The assistant had already written about 800 lines of code when it refused to continue. Rather than simply completing the task, the Cursor AI explained that generating code for the developer would interfere with his learning process. It suggested that he should focus on developing the logic behind the game himself to better understand the system and be able to maintain it in the future.
The assistant further explained that completing tasks like this for others could foster dependency, ultimately reducing opportunities for learning and growth.
The developer expressed frustration in his post, noting how challenging it was to manually review the 800 lines of code generated so far. He mentioned that he had spent an hour working on the code before reaching this point, feeling limited by the refusal of the cursor AI to continue helping.
