Chief Secretary Anurag Jain : Key decisions were made during the State Executive Committee meeting for Strengthening Teaching-Learning and Results for States (STARS) and PM Shri Yojana under the Madhya Pradesh Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. The meeting, held today at the Secretariat under the leadership of Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, was attended by officials from the School Education, Women and Child Development, and Finance Departments.
Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain instructed officials to ensure timely implementation of government schemes and emphasized the full utilization of resources in government schools for the benefit of students. He also directed that unused buildings be repurposed to support the scheme’s implementation and stressed the importance of coordination between the School Education and Women and Child Development Departments to maximize human resource efficiency. Additionally, he reviewed the functioning of Anganwadi centers and pre-primary schools.
During the meeting, the annual action plan of approximately 5,624 crore for the Madhya Pradesh Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan for 2025-26 was approved, along with an action plan of 269 crore under the STARS project. A work plan of 274 crore was also sanctioned under the PM Shri scheme of the School Education Department.
Further approvals included 8.68 crore for ITC lab computer systems at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, benefiting 201 residential schools. Additionally, funds were allocated for upgrading 240 PM Shri schools in the third and fourth phases of the scheme, including the installation of smart classrooms, sports equipment, and furniture. Over 8 crore was also approved for purchasing music equipment for 370 PM Shri schools. The proposals finalized in the meeting will now be submitted to the Central Government for further approval.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of the Other Backward Classes Welfare Department Shri Ajit Kesari, Principal Secretary Finance Shri Manish Rastogi, Principal Secretary Women and Child Development Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami, Commissioner of Public Education Smt. Shilpa Gupta, and Director of the State Education Center Shri Harjinder Singh.
