Dehradun Literature Festival Day 2: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami launches Agrahari Dhingra’s book ‘Leading Ladies’, highlighting women empowerment and cultural growth.
The second day of the Doon Literature Festival (DDLF), held at Doon International School, witnessed an inspiring blend of literature, creativity, and cultural dialogue. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami graced the event and officially launched author Agrahari Dhingra’s book ‘Leading Ladies’.
The Chief Minister praised the festival, stating that DDLF has emerged as a powerful platform that promotes dialogue, empathy, and creative thinking. He emphasised that literature plays a significant role in expressing emotions, sharing ideas, and shaping social as well as cultural awareness.

While unveiling the book, CM Dhami expressed confidence that Leading Ladies of India will motivate readers, especially women, to pursue growth and leadership. He highlighted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government has been consistently working towards women empowerment.

He added that the demand for products made by women’s self-help groups in Uttarakhand is increasing rapidly. To promote self-reliance among women, the state government is running multiple welfare schemes and initiatives.

CM Dhami also stated that the government is committed to preserving Uttarakhand’s rich culture and traditional practices. Festivals, literature events, and local art-based programs are being increasingly encouraged to strengthen cultural identity.
The second day of the Doon Literature Festival thus concluded with a strong message of empowerment, creativity, and cultural pride, marking it as one of the key literary events in the region.
