A delegation of the Madhya Pradesh Bidi Udyog Sangh met CM Dr. Mohan Yadav and discussed issues related to employment opportunities in the Bidi industry and encouraging compliant Bidi manufacturers.
The delegation led by Secretary of the Bidi Udyog Sangh, Shri Arjun Khanna, who met CM Dr. Mohan Yadav in the Chief Minister’s chamber in the Vidhan Sabha, informed that Bidi manufacturing is a labour-based cottage village industry, which requires minimum capital or infrastructure. The association requested to increase the subsidy on tendu leaves per standard bag, while giving suggestions to increase the quantity and quality of Bidi production from the state’s high quality and grade tendu patta. The representatives of the association said that through production-based incentives, the state can be strengthened as a centre of organized and regulated bidi production. This will also help in creating more employment opportunities.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the state government will make every effort to implement the suggestions of the Madhya Pradesh Bidi Udyog Sangh.
