Ahead of the Delhi Budget 2026, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta held a special meeting with representatives of the transgender community to discuss their concerns and suggestions. The government assured the community that their inputs would be taken into account while preparing the upcoming budget.
During the meeting at the Secretariat, members of the transgender community highlighted several critical issues, including employment opportunities, healthcare, housing, and basic amenities. CM Rekha Gupta listened attentively and assured that their recommendations would be given priority in the Delhi Budget 2026.
The community members also welcomed the decision to provide free travel on DTC buses through the Saheli Pink Card scheme, describing it as a step that would ease daily life and reduce financial burdens. They emphasized the need for safe and dignified employment, more sensitive healthcare services, strengthened skill development programs, better housing, and access to clean surroundings and essential facilities. Simplifying processes related to identity documents and other paperwork was another key request.

Earlier, the Chief Minister met with Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta to discuss preparations for the budget session, which is scheduled to start on 23 March. It was confirmed that the Delhi Budget 2026 will be presented on 24 March. Cabinet Minister Pravesh Sahib Singh, Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, and Chief Secretary Abhay Verma were also present at the meeting.
CM Rekha Gupta emphasized that the Delhi Budget 2026 would aim to address the needs of all sections of society and ensure inclusivity. She assured that the transgender community’s suggestions would be reflected in the budget to empower them and provide better access to services and resources.
The upcoming Delhi Budget 2026 is expected to focus on employment, healthcare, housing, and social welfare, giving special attention to marginalized communities and ensuring that every citizen benefits from the state’s development programs.
