Delhi Liquor Scam Case Acquittal: Baltej Singh Pannu says the court’s decision discharging Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia is a victory for truth, justice, and honest politics.
The Delhi Liquor Scam Case Acquittal has restored the common citizen’s confidence in the judicial system, said Baltej Singh Pannu, Media In-charge of Aam Aadmi Party Punjab, while addressing a press conference on Thursday.
Reacting to the Delhi Liquor Scam Case Acquittal, Pannu described the court’s decision as a decisive blow to what he termed a politically driven narrative. A Delhi court discharged Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and others, ruling that the case lacked the necessary evidence to proceed.
‘Case Had No Legal Foundation’
Speaking about the Delhi Liquor Scam Case Acquittal, Pannu emphasized that the court found no substantial material to justify a trial. “There was no recovery, no cash trail, no incriminating documents, and no admissible evidence. The detailed court order clearly stated that a case without foundation cannot continue,” he said.
According to Pannu, the verdict highlights the strength and independence of India’s judiciary, reinforcing democratic values and due process.
Governance Model Under Spotlight
Pannu reiterated that the Aam Aadmi Party was built on reforms in education and healthcare. He pointed to initiatives such as Delhi’s Mohalla Clinics and sweeping government school reforms, which he claimed have received international appreciation. He added that similar governance reforms are now visible in Punjab, where newly established clinics and improved academic outcomes in government schools demonstrate tangible progress.
He argued that the Delhi Liquor Scam Case Acquittal exposes what he described as attempts to undermine a governance model focused on transparency and public welfare.
Allegations of Political Targeting
Alleging political vendetta, Pannu said opponents fabricated the narrative of a ₹100 crore scam after failing to counter AAP’s governance record. “Where is the ₹100 crore? What scam?” he asked, asserting that the Delhi Liquor Scam Case Acquittal dismantles the allegations that dominated political discourse for months.
He also remarked that the time spent in jail by Kejriwal, Sisodia, and others cannot be compensated, calling it a heavy personal and political cost.
Tribute to Constitution and Judiciary
Thanking the judiciary for upholding justice, Pannu paid tribute to B. R. Ambedkar for framing a Constitution that safeguards democratic rights. He described the Delhi Liquor Scam Case Acquittal as not merely a political victory, but a landmark moment for honest politics and the rule of law.
Concluding his remarks, Pannu said the Delhi Liquor Scam Case Acquittal has strengthened faith in the courts and will further consolidate AAP’s presence across the country. “We were proud of our leaders yesterday, we are proud today, and we will remain proud,” he stated.
