Delhi Police dismissed viral assault claims during the CJP protest as false, while CJP reiterated its allegations and continued talks with JP Nadda.

The Delhi Police on Monday rejected viral allegations circulating on social media that claimed a woman and a 12-year-old girl were assaulted during the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest in the national capital. The police described the allegations as false and misleading, urging the public not to share unverified information online.

The clarification came as the CJP continued its “Sansad Chalo” campaign over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, including the NEET-UG controversy.

Delhi Police Issues Fact Check

The controversy began after CJP spokesperson Saurav Das posted on social media alleging that a woman identified as Geetanjali had been assaulted by Delhi Police, her hair was pulled, and that a 12-year-old girl suffered a serious head injury during the protest. He also claimed that dozens of protesters had sustained severe injuries.

Responding to the viral posts, Delhi Police’s fact-check unit stated that the allegations were incorrect and clarified that no such incident, as described in the social media posts, had been confirmed.

The police appealed to citizens to avoid sharing false or misleading content that could create confusion during a sensitive public event.

CJP Stands By Its Allegations

Despite the police clarification, Saurav Das issued another statement, claiming that the woman referred to in his earlier post was Gitanjali Angmo, the partner of activist Sonam Wangchuk.

According to Das, Gitanjali was allegedly assaulted during the protest and her hair was pulled by police personnel. As of now, Delhi Police has continued to deny these specific allegations.

CJP Delegation Meets JP Nadda

Amid the ongoing protest, CJP representatives Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka met BJP National President JP Nadda and submitted a written memorandum outlining the party’s key demands.

According to CJP leaders, the memorandum focused on:

Immediate release of activist Sonam Wangchuk.
Resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Compensation of ₹1 crore to the families of NEET aspirants who allegedly died by suicide.

Following the meeting, the delegation said JP Nadda assured them that their demands would be discussed with the party leadership.

‘Sansad Chalo’ Protest Continues

The CJP’s “Sansad Chalo” campaign continued throughout the day, with protesters demanding accountability over alleged examination irregularities, including concerns related to NEET-UG and other competitive exams.

Security arrangements remained tight across central Delhi as police personnel were deployed to prevent protesters from marching towards Parliament during the ongoing Monsoon Session.

With conflicting claims emerging on social media, Delhi Police has appealed to the public to rely only on verified information from official sources. Meanwhile, the protest movement and discussions between the CJP and the government are expected to continue in the coming days as demands related to education reforms remain at the centre of the ongoing agitation.
