DELHI WEATHER : Heavy Rain Forecast for Delhi-NCR
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall and thunderstorms across various parts of the country.
On Wednesday morning, heavy rain drenched several parts of Delhi-NCR, providing respite from the humidity but also causing waterlogging in many places. The spell of rain, accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms, has continued to lash the national capital this week.
The IMD has issued orange alerts for several states and UTs while forecasting intermittent light to moderate showers (5–10 mm/hr) in South, Central, and North Delhi over the next two hours, with the possibility of isolated heavy downpours (>15 mm/hr).
Neighbouring NCR regions including Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Nuh, and Hodal are also expected to witness periodic rainfall. Parts of Gurugram, Jhajjar, and Rohtak may see thunderstorms with moderate showers.
Delhi-NCR also witnessed heavy rainfall on Tuesday, with residents waking up to cloudy skies and fresh showers. A red alert for heavy rain was issued for Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities have advised people to stay indoors during thunderstorms, avoid waterlogged and low-lying areas, and follow safety instructions.
