Disabled persons today met CM Nitish Kumar at 1 Aney Marg and expressed their gratitude to him for increasing the social security pension by more than 2.5 times. At the beginning of the meeting, the Chief Minister was welcomed with bouquets.
Congratulating all the Divyangjans, the Chief Minister said that the state government is constantly striving for inclusive development of the entire Bihar and the needs of every section will be given priority. Interacting with the Divyangjan, he assured them that action will be taken keeping in mind all their needs.
The Divyangjans hailed the historic hike in social security pension as a revolutionary step and expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister. He said that this decision has boosted their confidence and they are fully in support of the Chief Minister. Enthusiastic Divyangjan also raised slogans in support of the Chief Minister.
It may be recalled that Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar had on 21st June, 2025 announced enhancement of monthly pension from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1100 for old age persons, differently abled and widows under the Social Security Pension Scheme. This decision will directly benefit 1 crore 9 lakh 69 thousand 255 beneficiaries of the state.
On this occasion, he was accompanied by MLA Dr Harjot Kamal, MLA Sukhjit Singh Kaka Lohgarh, MLA Darshan Singh Brar, Former Minister Malti Thapar, Punjab Congress Acting President Pawan Goyal, Former MLA Vijay Sathi, Mayor of Moga Municipal Corporation Nitika Bhalla, Chairman Inderjit Singh Talwandi Bhangerian, Chairman Vinod Bansal, District President Maheshinder Singh Nihal Singh Wala and others.
