District Collector Jitendra Kumar: District Collector gave instructions in the meeting of District Traffic Management Committee.

At a meeting of the District Traffic Management Committee held at the Jaipur Collectorate on Monday, District Collector Jitendra Kumar Soni directed the officials to prepare an effective action plan to prevent road accidents. He ordered to make necessary arrangements at accident prone places as well as to install new signages by removing old signages to reduce road accidents on national and state highways.

He directed the NHAI officials to complete the flyover construction work expeditiously and qualitatively. Along with this, he ordered to install signage boards of speed limits under the new notification of the Government of India on national and state roads in urban and rural areas of Jaipur district, resolve black spots identified as per the protocol of highways, ensure compliance of traffic rules and take effective action on violations of unauthorized parking, reflective tape etc. on highways. Besides, he directed the officials of Jaipur Development Authority and Rajasthan State Road Development Corporation to submit compliance reports of the points of the last meeting.

The meeting also discussed other road safety measures including GPS tracking of vehicles carrying flammable substances, taking necessary action against route violators, catching drivers driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at toll plazas and applying radium bandage to destitute animals.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Additional District Collector, officials of Jaipur Development Authority, Transport Department, Public Works Department and other concerned departments, as well as office bearers of Muskan Foundation.
