Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh today graced the ‘Eat Right Millet Mela 2026’ in Patiala as the chief guest. Aimed at promoting nutritional awareness and food safety across the state, the event served as the launchpad for a significant public health initiative. Dr. Balbir Singh officially flagged off a specialized mobile lab van campaign designed to provide on-the-spot food testing services in every district of Punjab.
During his keynote address, Dr. Balbir Singh emphasized that the Punjab government, under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to a “Zero Tolerance” policy against food adulteration. Dr. Balbir Singh explained that the ‘Eat Right Millet Mela 2026’ is a strategic effort to reintroduce millets into the daily diet while ensuring that the food reaching every household is pure and safe.
