The Malout water supply project, initiated under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, is valued at ₹16.25 crore and will significantly strengthen the city’s water infrastructure. According to Dr. Baljit Kaur, the project includes the installation of new pumping machinery at the Sirhind Feeder and the replacement of the old 8,300-meter pipeline, which was prone to leaks, with a modern, efficient pipeline system.
To ensure comprehensive coverage, approximately 20 kilometers of new pipelines will be laid across Malout, making water accessible to every neighborhood. The Malout water supply project also plans to provide around 3,000 new household connections, giving residents improved access to clean and sufficient drinking water.
