Dr. Samit Sharma: To develop healthy competition, ranking of veterinary institutes will be introduced, grading system will be introduced
Animal Husbandry Secretary Dr. Samit Sharma has said that three new systems are being implemented in the department from January 1, 2025. He said that livestock farmers will get the vaccination, health insurance, etc. of the Animal Husbandry Department. Key performance indicator based monthly report cards will be prepared for all divisions and districts for effective monitoring of most important programmes like artificial inseminationSo that the schemes can be run better and problems can be identified and resolved on time.
He was addressing the officers of the department on the occasion of New Year at Pashudhan Bhawan situated on Tonk Road on Wednesday. Dr. Samit Sharma while wishing the officers of the department a Happy New Year He said that we have to move forward with discipline and timeliness while focusing on the goals of the department and try to provide excellent government services to our beneficiaries.
Dr. Samit Sharma said that in order to improve the veterinary institutions of the department like polyclinics, veterinary hospitals and veterinary sub-centres, those institutions will be monitored on 100, 65 and 50 points respectively.He said that this system will not only prove helpful in implementing activities at local level in veterinary institutions but will also be of great help in performance evaluation of the institutions in review meetings to be held at state level.Dr Sharma informed that veterinary institutes and officers who remain excellent throughout the year will be honoured with certificates on the occasion of World Veterinary Day (last Saturday of April). This will develop healthy competition among the institutions to do better and livestock farmers and animals will also get quality services.
Dr. Samit Sharma informed that the Mobile Veterinary Units being run by the department will now be conducting veterinary camps for about 3 to 4 hours every day in the morning, in addition to call based operations received on 1962 call centre.A day before the camp is organised, the villagers will be informed about it by the representative of the nearest departmental institution. IEC material related to the department and the camp will also be displayed at the camp site. He informed that MVU would function on all days of the week without any holiday and the roles of the department and the operating firms for organising the camp had been finalised.
