We started increasing the number of self-help groups by taking loans from the World Bank. We named the self-help group ‘Jeevika’ and the women associated with them ‘Jeevika Didi’, inspired by which the then central government implemented it across the country under the name ‘Aajeevika’. With this, the economic condition of women in Bihar has improved a lot. Women are becoming self-reliant by joining self-help groups, their attire and interaction has also improved. They now talk to people without hesitation. I congratulate all the Jeevika Didis for their good work and hope that you all move forward and make great progress.
