Arvind Kejriwal: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been accused by AAP leaders of planning a “attack” on Arvind Kejriwal in Vikaspuri, Delhi.

Arvind Kejriwal, national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, said on Saturday that he was “attacked by goons” while on his Delhi padyatra.

The accusations follow the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) claim that the former chief minister of Delhi was attacked while on his padayatra in Vikaspuri, West Delhi.

When I visited Vikaspuri yesterday, their goons attacked me. Would you like to kill me? If you have the courage, contest elections against me,” Kejriwal was quoted as saying  at a campaign rally.

You (the BJP) control 22 states. I have constructed 500 mohalla clinics in Delhi; you ought to have constructed 5,000. I am not greedy for power. I’ve left the CM chair, but I’m concerned that Delhi’s work shouldn’t stop, not whether I’ll return or not.

“You don’t need to pay water bills,” he added to the audience. Your water costs will be waived if you make me CM once more.

AAP’s allegation against BJP

AAP leaders have warned that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be held responsible if Kejriwal is harmed and have accused the party of planning the Vikaspuri event.

However, the party has not yet released any video of the purported attack. According to the police, the AAP has not filed any formal complaints against them.

Sanjay Singh, an AAP Rajya Sabha MP, stated at a press conference on Saturday that “BJP goons” attacked Kejriwal during his campaigning in the Vikaspuri region.

“It is evident that there was a serious plot to assassinate Kejriwal given the police’s involvement in the incident. Singh claimed that the BJP had turned into his life’s enemies.

Singh responded that it was the responsibility of the police to look into the incident when asked why no official complaint had been filed with them. He stated that “the police can take cognizance of the incident and conduct its probe,” he said, noting that AAP is currently seeking legal advice for further steps.

Claiming that Kejriwal was only dealing with protests by residents unhappy with the tainted water supply in their houses, the BJP rejected the AAP’s accusations.
