CM Nitish Kumar : Inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 1714 schemes.
CM Nitish Kumar today remotely inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 1714 development projects worth Rs. 1437.96 crore from the premises of Prabhavati Hospital in Chandauti block of Gaya district as part of Pragati Yatra. These include inauguration of 898 schemes (Rs. 395.42 crore) and foundation stone laying of 816 schemes (Rs. 1042.53 crore).
During the Pragati Yatra, CM Nitish Kumar inspected the stalls of various livelihood activities run by Jeevika Didis near village Lavabar Dam in Imamganj block. He also visited the Neera Collection-cum-Sale Centre and handed over a token cheque of Rs. 8 lakh, keys of tractor, transfer certificate of two ponds for fisheries to Ekta Jeevika Mahila Gram Sangathan. Besides, financial assistance of Rs. 12.43 crore to 2967 target families under Sustainable Livelihood Scheme, bank linkage assistance of Rs. 482.68 crore to 55,340 Didis of 11,068 Self Help Groups and key of e-rickshaw transfer were also handed over to the beneficiaries.
Interacting with the Jeevika Didis during the stall inspection, the Chief Minister said his government had started increasing the number of self-help groups by taking loans from the World Bank in 2006. He said it was named ‘Jeevika’ in Bihar, and inspired by his initiative, the central government named it ‘Aajeevika’ across the country.
CM Nitish Kumar inspected the restoration works of Lavabar Dam and Pyne Irrigation Scheme and enquired about its progress from the officials. He directed that the problems of the farmers should be solved by completing this work soon and irrigation facilities should be ensured to every field.
The Chief Minister also inspected the widening of the Imamganj-Kothi-Salaiya road and the site of the Varanasi-Kolkata Expressway. The officers apprised him of the progress of various ongoing road development projects in Gaya district, including:
- Widening of Imamganj Bazar to Pakri (Jharkhand Border) into Double Lane (Rs. 24.77 Crore)
- Extension of Gaya-Koilwa Morh into Double Lane (Rs. 104.97 Crore)
- Construction of ROB from Gaya Railway Station to Ramshila Path (Rs.70 crore)
- Construction of ROB at Chakand Railway Gumti on Gaya-Patna-Dobhi route (Rs.85 crore)
- Widening of Dalelchak-Bhikhachak-Patna-Gaya main road (Rs.24 crore)
- Extension of road from Bela-Panari Road to Shakir Bigha (Rs.40 crore)
The Chief Minister directed the officials to complete all these development works in a time-bound manner so that the citizens of the area can get their benefits at the earliest.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to complete the construction of all roads within the stipulated time frame. CM Nitish Kumar said that with the construction of these roads, the connectivity in the area will improve, which will facilitate the movement of people and also save time.
Thereafter, CM Nitish Kumar undertook an on-the-spot inspection of the Batspur Beer Dam project at Basadhi village in Bodh Gaya block. The officials gave detailed information about the Batsapur Beer Dam project and the widening and expansion work of Moratal Main Pain through maps and diagrams. During this, necessary instructions were given to the officials.
Later, CM Nitish Kumar inspected the Gobar Gas Plant, MGNREGA Park, Anganwadi Centre, MGNREGA Haat and Sports Ground in Batsapur village. The officials briefed him about the functioning of the biogas plant under the Gobar Dhan Yojana, which is run by Jeevika Didis and provides affordable cooking facility. The Chief Minister inaugurated the MGNREGA Park built at a cost of Rs. 16.10 lakh by cutting the ribbon and inspected the Saksham Anganwadi Centre. On the occasion, he presented token cheques to the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana and Shravan Shruti Yojana.
Thereafter,CM Nitish Kumar inspected the stalls of various departments, which included Industries, Health, Rural Development, Agriculture, Social Welfare and Education departments. He handed over token cheques to the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, Startup Scheme, SC / ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and Ayushman Card. He also handed over keys to beneficiaries of Mukhya Mantri Block Transport Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Gram Transport Yojana.
CM Nitish Kumar handed over the keys of Jeevika Gram Sangathan office buildings in various blocks and panchayats of Gaya district to the Jeevika Didis. He also inspected Lohia Swachh Abhiyan and MGNREGA Gramin Haat. During this time, he enjoyed the song and Kathak dance performed by the children of Kilkari and inaugurated the MGNREGA Sports Complex built at a cost of Rs. 8.28 lakhs. The Chief Minister witnessed the performance of Judo-Karate girls and encouraged them. “As long as CM Nitish Kumar is there, girls will continue to be respected.
Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated a 100-bedded model hospital built at a cost of Rs. 290.3 crore in the Prabhavati Hospital premises. He inspected various departments of the hospital and took information about the facilities and described it as suitable for state-of-the-art treatment.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Environment Minister Dr. Prem Kumar, Minor Water Resources Minister Santosh Kumar Suman, MLAs, MLCs, former ministers and other public representatives were present on the occasion. Chief Secretary Anil Khachi, Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister J. C. Sharma, Secretary GAD Devesh Kumar and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
