Punjab Revenue Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian says Easy Registry has made property registration faster, transparent and citizen-friendly.
Punjab Revenue Minister S. Hardeep Singh Mundian has said that the state’s Easy Registry initiative has transformed the property registration process by making it quicker, more transparent and easier for citizens.
The initiative uses technology to simplify several stages of property registration and reduce the need for applicants to make repeated visits to government offices. Mundian said the system is emerging as an example of citizen-focused governance in Punjab.
Easy Registry Introduced as Pilot Project in Mohali
The Easy Registry system was first introduced on a pilot basis in Mohali in July 2025. It brings several key services onto a digital platform, including online preparation of property deeds, payment of registration-related fees, pre-scrutiny of documents and digital generation of Fard.
The system also incorporates e-KYC and WhatsApp-based updates, allowing applicants to stay informed about the progress of their registration. Another major feature enables citizens to register a property at any Sub-Registrar office within their district.

High Satisfaction Among Beneficiaries
According to surveys conducted among 6,623 beneficiaries, the digital registration system has received a strong response from citizens. Around 93% of respondents said they were satisfied with the new process.
The survey also found that 93% of beneficiaries had their property registration completed on the scheduled appointment date. Nearly 90% reported facing no difficulties during the process, while 94% said they did not face pressure to make any additional payments.
These findings indicate that the Easy Registry model has helped improve both convenience and transparency in property-related government services.
Registration Completed in Around 35 Minutes
The Punjab government’s technology-driven system has also helped reduce the time citizens spend at registration offices. Most applicants are able to complete the registration process in approximately 35 minutes.
The First-In-First-Out (FIFO) mechanism and a 48-hour scrutiny window have further contributed to reducing waiting periods. The measures are also aimed at limiting unnecessary repeat visits by applicants.
By introducing these features, Easy Registry has attempted to make the property registration process more predictable and efficient for citizens.
Nearly 10 Lakh Documents Registered
The scale of the initiative can be gauged from the number of documents registered since its launch. As of September 8, 2026, a total of 9,87,425 documents had been registered across Punjab through the system.
Mundian said the growing adoption demonstrates that citizens are responding positively to technology-enabled public services. He described the initiative as an emerging model for transparent and citizen-centric governance.
With digital services, scheduled appointments and streamlined scrutiny integrated into one process, Easy Registry is playing a key role in modernising property registration services across Punjab.
