AAP leader Atishi
Atishi, an AAP politician and minister in Delhi, received a show-cause notice from the Election Commission on Friday, requesting that she substantiate her claim that the BJP approached her about joining the party.
In opposition to her assertion that the party approached her through a close friend and asked her to join, the BJP has already moved the commission.
“You are a minister in the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi and the leader of a national party,” stated the notice from the Election Commission. Voters have a tendency to trust whatever their leaders say in public, thus their remarks have an impact on the tone of the campaign.” The survey panel stated that it expected the AAP leader’s remarks to have a “factual foundation” and that, given that the validity of the statements has been questioned, she should be able to support them with evidence.
