Education Minister Madan Dilawar: Girls who scored 75 percent or more marks were honored.
Education Minister Madan Dilawar on the occasion of Basant Panchami on Monday presented Rs 3000 (first and second instalment for class 11 and 12) and citation on continuing regular studies to girl students who have scored 75 percent or more marks in the secondary examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer for the year 2024-25 under the Gargi Puraskar Scheme run by the Balika Shiksha Foundation at his official residence. Under the Balika Protsahan Puraskar Scheme, a lump sum amount of Rs 5000 was given to girls who secured 75 per cent or more marks in the Higher Secondary / Senior Upadhyaya Examination.
Under both the award schemes, a total amount of Rs 90,34,08,000 (Rs 90 crore thirty-four lakh eight thousand) was given to 2,27,260 girls through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
In the first installment of Gargi Award Scheme, this amount was given to 80,129 girls and in the second installment to 36,317 girls, while under the Girls Incentive Scheme, 1,10,814 girls were given this amount, making a total of 2,27,260 girls.
Education Minister Madan Dilawar, while addressing all the meritorious girls and their parents, said that the state government had established the Girls Education Foundation in 1995 to promote girls’ education, and various schemes are running to fulfill the same objective. As a result, prize money has been given to these girls.
On this occasion, Joint Government Secretary and Director Girls Education Foundation, Shri Manish Goyal shared exam related tips with the girl students.
Secretary Girls Education Foundation Dr. Aruna Sharma, Deputy Secretary Mrs. Usha Sharma and meritorious students of various schools and their parents were also present in this program.
