Eid al-Adha: It will not be permitted for public processions, prayer, worship, or religious events to take place during this time without specific permission.
The Noida Police has implemented restrictions under Section 144 of the CrPC throughout the Noida and Greater Noida area from Sunday to Wednesday in anticipation of the approaching Bakr-Id and Jyeshtha Ganga Dussehra celebrations.
Ganga Dussehra is celebrated on Sunday, while Bakr-Id is held on Sunday and Monday.
Public prayers, worship, processions, and other religious gatherings are strictly forbidden under Section 144 unless authorized by a police order.
“Considering the possible risk to public order presented by anti-social elements, it cannot be ruled out that such individuals may disturb peace,” stated Hirdesh Katheriya, an additional DCP (law and order).
“Additionally, various examinations and protest programmes are organised from time to time by the government, different commissions, councils, etc. and they are often notified shortly before their scheduled dates,” Katheriya stated. He continued by saying that appropriate steps must be taken to guarantee its smooth conduct.
“Prevent any mischievous elements from engaging in activities that could create an adverse environment” was the order issued by a police officer, who mentioned earlier protests by party workers, farmer organizations, and other demonstrators that could disrupt calm.
The officer added that the order was granted unilaterally and will be in effect from June 16 to June 19, citing the gravity of the situation and the lack of time to provide the other party a hearing.
The order places notable restrictions on the use of loudspeakers and other sound-amplifying equipment beyond what is permitted, particularly between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., checks on large unlawful assemblages of people, and the unauthorised use of drones within a one-kilometer radius of government offices.
The police order also prohibits actions at the disputed areas that are not conventional. It’s also forbidden to gather explosives, inflammable materials, soda bottles, bricks, and stones in open spaces or on rooftops.
The police say that breaking the order, in whole or in part, will result in legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
“From June 16 to June 19, this order will be in effect throughout the whole Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate. In the police order, Katheriya said, “Any additional orders from the Uttar Pradesh government during this period will automatically modify the relevant points of this prohibition order.”
