Elnaaz Norouzi Defends Apoorva Mukhija: ‘People Don’t Like Outspoken Women’
Former contestant Elnaaz Norouzi has come out in defense of Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as ‘The Rebel Kid’ from Karan Johar’s recently concluded reality show The Traitors. Apoorva, who was widely recognized for her entertaining presence on the show, faced criticism and backlash, including a public spat with winner Uorfi Javed and remarks from fellow contestant Sudhanshu Pandey accusing her of being disrespectful.

During a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, Elnaaz was asked about the negative reactions directed at Apoorva and whether there was any off-camera drama causing the friction. She stood firmly in Apoorva’s defense, suggesting that outspoken women often face unwarranted hostility.
Elnaaz Norouzi responded, “I guess people usually don’t like outspoken women who are smart and strong … I personally never heard her being rude or seeing things some other players didn’t say.” She also pointed out the exclusion of Apoorva and some contestants from fan WhatsApp groups as a sign of the unfair treatment.
When asked about her favorite contestants on the show, Elnaaz named Anshula, Apoorva, and Maheep as the top three she admired.
Elnaaz Norouzi further addressed criticism from some contestants who were less active on the show but later gave interviews targeting Apoorva. “Weird…. I don’t know why you have to talk about other people in your interviews … speak about yourself and about your own work! If you are asked, give a small comment and move on … that’s what I would do!” she remarked.
Elnaaz’s support highlights ongoing discussions about how outspoken women are often unfairly judged in the entertainment industry and reality TV space.
