Food Pharmer Criticizes Tees Maar Khan, Farah Khan Stands Firm for the Gen Z Fans
New Delhi, May 12 — Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently found herself defending her 2010 film Tees Maar Khan after a playful jab from food nutritionist Revant Himatsingka, popularly known as Food Pharmer. The exchange took place during an old vlog, where Farah invited Revant over for lunch at her home.

While cooking paneer bhurji with the help of her cook Dilip, Farah Khan and nutrition influencer Revant Himatsingka, also known as ‘Food Pharmer,‘ casually discussed his profession as a health and nutrition influencer, known for debunking food labels and spreading awareness about clean eating. During the chat, Revant humorously critiqued Farah’s Tees Maar Khan in comparison to her other film, Main Hoon Na.
He said, “Agar aap movie bana rahe ho, toh Main Hoon Na banao, Tees Maar Khan nahi (If you are making a film, make Main Hoon Na, not Tees Maar Khan).” This comment referenced Tees Maar Khan‘s poor reception at the box office.
Farah Khan Defends Her Film ‘ Tees Maar Khan’
Farah Khan, who directed both films, quickly responded with a playful yet defensive tone, saying, “Aaaee, Tees Maar Khan Gen Z ki favourite hai. Aisa nahi bolna, Revant. It is their favourite film (Don’t say like that, it’s a Gen Z favorite).” Revant, with a smile, jokingly retorted, “Gen Z ka taste bhi kaafi kharaab hai (Their taste is also very bad).”
This exchange quickly became a lighthearted moment in the vlog but highlighted Farah’s strong connection to her film, despite its earlier criticism.
Farah Khan has always been candid about the challenges she faced after Tees Maar Khan. Speaking in a past interview with Bombay Times, Farah revealed how the film was harshly criticized, despite its commercial success. “I still recall how Tees Maar Khan was ripped apart, and though people said a lot of things about it, the film made money,” she shared.
Farah Khan also opened up about the emotional toll the negative reception took on her. “After Tees Maar Khan, I didn’t want to step out, even though I was winning an award for the choreography of Sheila Ki Jawani. My mother-in-law encouraged me to go for it. So, through time and the ups and downs, I grew older and wiser, and had kids,” she added.
Despite the mixed reviews, Tees Maar Khan has gained a cult following over the years, particularly among the Gen Z audience, as Farah Khan humorously pointed out. Farah’s perseverance and resilience have seen her continue to make waves in the film industry, both as a choreographer and a director, with a strong legacy of successful projects.
Food Pharmer’s Role in the Conversation
Revant, aka Food Pharmer, may have intended his comment as a lighthearted joke, but it sparked a bigger conversation about the enduring appeal of Tees Maar Khan among younger audiences. The playful banter on the vlog showcased the friendship and easy rapport between the two, but it also highlighted Farah Khan’s enduring support for her film, which, despite its critical reception, remains a favorite of many, especially Gen Z.
Farah Khan continues to inspire with her perseverance and passion for filmmaking, creating a strong legacy with both her choreography and directorial work. Her candid reflection on Tees Maar Khan speaks to the changing dynamics of filmmaking and the lasting impact of films, no matter their initial reception.
