Ram Kapoor Called Out by Farah Khan Over Joke About Her Cook in Viral Vlog
In a lighthearted yet eventful vlog that’s now making waves online, filmmaker Farah Khan visited actor Ram Kapoor and his wife Gautami Kapoor at their luxurious South Mumbai residence. What began as a casual visit turned into a hilariously tense moment after Farah misheard a comment Ram made about her cook, Dilip.

When Farah Khan Thought Ram Kapoor Insulted Her Cook
Upon arriving, Ram warmly greeted Farah Khan’s cook Dilip with, “Bhai, asli star toh tu hai (Bro, you’re the real star),” prompting a mock-jealous reaction from Farah Khan, who joked, “Sharam toh nahi aayi na, mujhe baad mein hug kiya tune?” The mood took a sudden shift, however, when Farah mistakenly thought Ram had called Dilip a “dhakkan” (a derogatory term for someone foolish).
Though the actor was actually referring to one of his pets, the misunderstanding led Farah Khan to “punish” him in jest by making him wash utensils and later fry bhajiyas in the kitchen. “This is scary for me,” Ram joked as he obliged, referencing his unexpected domestic duties—especially ironic given his endorsement deal as Vim detergent’s brand ambassador.
Before stepping into the kitchen, Ram gave viewers a glimpse into his spacious home, including a home theatre room, a lip-shaped couch in the bathroom, and a coffin-shaped table in the bar. Farah, never one to hold back, teased Ram about his upscale residence: “South Bombay ke bhai, bade bade log.”
In turn, Ram playfully pointed out Farah’s sprawling multi-floor home with a private lift and rooftop swimming pool. “She owns a mini building on top of a massive building,” he said, impressed.
During the visit, the two industry veterans reminisced about old times. Ram shared memories of his early days, his time studying acting in Los Angeles, and his weight loss journey. Farah, who has known him since he weighed over 150 kg, asked if his transformation has helped his career. Ram responded, “I didn’t do it for work. I did it for my health. I had decided I’d change when I turned 50.”
Gautami Kapoor also joined the vlog, showing Farah Khan a large portrait of Ram in character from the film Neeyat, which Farah jokingly likened to a Pablo Escobar-style painting. Ram revealed it was a gift from a producer and serves as a reminder of his journey in the industry.
The vlog ended on a sweet note as Gautami gifted cook Dilip a t-shirt printed with the word “Best” in Hindi, while Ram revealed that he now follows a two-meal-a-day routine, surviving the rest of the time on tea and coffee.
