Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, who also chairs the Cabinet Sub-Committee formed to address the issues and demands of government employees, on Monday met representatives of the Powercom & Transco Contractual Employees Union, the Punjab Ayurvedic Medical Services Association, and the Homeopathic Medical Officers Association to discuss their concerns in depth.
At a meeting held at the PSPCL Guest House with the Powercom & Transco Contractual Employees Union, Finance Minister Harpal Cheema was joined by Power Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O and PSPCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director A.K. Sinha. The officials briefed him on the steps taken so far to address the union’s demands. The Finance Minister directed the department to draft a proposal on these demands and hold discussions with the Finance and Personnel Departments to move the matter forward. He assured the union representatives that the Punjab Government is committed to resolving their genuine concerns. The union was represented by State President Balihar Singh, General Secretary Tek Chand, and Press Secretary Inderpreet Singh.
Earlier in the day, at the Civil Secretariat, Finance Minister Harpal Cheema also held separate meetings with the Punjab Ayurvedic Medical Services Association and the Homeopathic Medical Officers Association. He carefully considered their demands and instructed the departments concerned to prepare proposals for speedy resolution and submit them to the Finance Department. The union leaders expressed gratitude to the Finance Minister for his sympathetic approach.
The Ayurvedic Medical Services Association was represented by Patron Dr. Sanjeev Goyal, President Dr. Amanpreet Singh, and General Secretary Dr. Rajiv Mehta, while the Homeopathic Medical Officers Association delegation included Patron Dr. Rajiv, President Dr. Balwinder Kumar, General Secretary Dr. Harinder Pal Singh, and Vice President Dr. Richa.
