Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone Cleared From FIR in Car Defect Dispute
Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone received relief from the Rajasthan High Court after an FIR filed against them in Bharatpur was stayed. The case stemmed from a complaint by a car owner who alleged that the actors, as brand ambassadors of the automobile brand, misled consumers by endorsing a “defective” vehicle.

The Complaint
The FIR, registered earlier this month, named the two actors along with six others. Advocate Kirti Singh, the complainant, claimed he suffered financial losses due to defects in the car he purchased. He further argued that the endorsements by Shah Rukh and Deepika influenced his decision, making them accountable.
Defence Arguments
Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing Shah Rukh Khan, told the court that the superstar had no direct connection to the manufacturing process and could not be held liable for technical issues. He stressed that celebrity endorsements cannot be equated with responsibility for quality standards.
Advocate Madhav Mitra, appearing for Deepika Padukone, presented a similar argument. He noted that Deepika’s role was strictly limited to promotional activities and that she had no involvement in production, testing, or sales.
