Fitbit Air is launching in India in October 2026. Check its screenless design, health tracking features, Google Health integration and expected price.
Google is bringing its new screenless fitness tracker to India later this year. The company has confirmed that Fitbit Air will launch in the country in October 2026, expanding its focus on screen-free health tracking and AI-powered wellness guidance.
Unlike conventional smartwatches and fitness bands, the wearable does not feature a display. Instead, it is designed to quietly collect health and fitness information in the background, allowing users to review their data through the Google Health app.
Fitbit Air India Launch Confirmed for October
Google confirmed the India launch timeline during the Pixel 11 launch event. The company told India Today Tech that Fitbit Air will arrive in the Indian market in October.
The wearable was first announced globally in May and is positioned as a screenless alternative to traditional fitness trackers. It comes in the form of a lightweight wrist strap and weighs around 12 grams with the band attached.
With no screen to constantly check, the device is aimed at people who want continuous fitness tracking without the distractions associated with a smartwatch.
What Can Fitbit Air Track?
Fitbit Air is equipped to monitor several health and fitness parameters throughout the day. It continuously tracks heart rate and monitors sleep stages while also generating Sleep Scores.
The wearable can also measure heart rate variability (HRV), a metric often used to understand recovery and stress levels. Google says it supports automatic workout detection and can recognise more than 140 different activities.
These include common exercises and activities such as:
- Walking
- Running
- Cycling
- Rowing
- Gym workouts
The tracker also provides information such as weekly cardio load, readiness scores, steps and distance.
Smart Wake and Silent Alarms
Another notable feature of Fitbit Air is Smart Wake. The feature is designed to wake users at a suitable point during their sleep cycle rather than relying solely on a fixed alarm time.
The device also comes with silent vibration alarms, allowing users to receive alerts without an audible alarm disturbing people nearby.
Google says its latest machine-learning models make the wearable 15% more accurate than previous versions in relevant tracking capabilities.

Google Health App Will Replace Fitbit App
Google is also changing how users access their fitness data. The company has redesigned its health platform, with the Google Health app replacing the Fitbit app.
According to Google, the Fitbit app will transition to Google Health from May 19, while users’ historical information will be transferred over.
Users will not need a paid subscription simply to access their health metrics. However, Google is offering a three-month trial of Google Health Premium, which includes features such as Google Health Coach, adaptive plans and additional logging capabilities.
What Does Google Health Coach Do?
The AI-powered Health Coach is designed to provide more personalised health and fitness guidance. Google says it can offer customised workout plans, recovery suggestions and sleep-related insights.
The tool can also analyse uploaded documents, photos, PDFs and medical records to provide more tailored suggestions. However, AI-generated health guidance should not be treated as a replacement for professional medical advice.
Fitbit Air Expected Price in India
Google has not yet revealed the official India price of Fitbit Air. In the US, the device is priced at $99, which works out to roughly ₹9,450 based on the approximate conversion mentioned.
For comparison, Whoop 5, one of its closest screenless fitness competitors, starts at around ₹21,990 in India.
The final Indian price could be different because of taxes, pricing strategy and local market considerations. Google is expected to reveal the India-specific pricing closer to the October launch.
Pixel Watch 5 Also Launched in India
For consumers who prefer a traditional smartwatch with a display, Google has also introduced the Pixel Watch 5 alongside the Pixel 11 series.
The Pixel Watch 5 starts at ₹42,900 in India, placing it in a significantly higher price category than the expected pricing of the screenless Fitbit wearable.
With its October arrival, Fitbit Air will give Indian consumers another option for tracking workouts, sleep and daily health metrics without wearing a screen on their wrist.
