The state assembly was presented with a ₹3.65 lakh crore budget for the fiscal year 2024–25 by Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Jagdish Devda on Wednesday. This budget is 16% higher than the previous year’s and includes increased funding for the department of culture, the preservation of cows, the development of religious sites, and the building of expressway roads.
The administration, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), boosted the budgetary allotment for the department of culture by 2.5 times and for cow conservation by three times, to ₹250 crore. Nevertheless, there has been no suggestion to raise the ₹1,250 monthly income that women receive under the Ladli Behna Scheme.
In the state, 2,190 cow shelters housing roughly 300,000 cows are in operation. The daily amount of cow feed given in the shelters has been increased from ₹20 to ₹40. In his budget speech, Devda stated, “The budget provision has been increased by three times to ₹250 crore for 2024–25.” According to him, the government has suggested raising the minimum support price for wheat to ₹2,700 and for paddy to ₹3,100 per quintal. One of the BJP’s promises prior to the assembly elections was the increase in the MSP.

Madhya Pradesh has made progress in the historic task of conserving the contributions made by the heroes of Indian civilization with the founding of the Veer Bharat Museum. He declared, “This will be the nation’s first museum of its kind.”
