Behind Gen V Season 2: Scripts Written for Chance Perdomo Before His Passing
The return of Gen V on Prime Video should’ve been all about excitement, but this season comes with a heavy heart. The show’s co-showrunner Michele Fazekas has revealed that five full episodes had already been written for Chance Perdomo before his tragic death at 27.

Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson in Season 1, wasn’t just another character in the expanding Boys universe — he was quickly becoming a fan favorite. Fazekas admitted that losing him wasn’t just about losing an actor, it was also about saying goodbye to a character they had mapped out with care. “It’s a weird thing to grieve a fictitious character,” she shared, reflecting on the tough reality of reshaping the show in his absence.
The writers’ room found themselves balancing grief with storytelling, figuring out how to honor Chance while moving the series forward. His presence, though gone, still lingers in the DNA of Season 2.
At the same time, the show is tackling some timely themes. Fazekas explained that many discussions compared the world of Gen V to real history. “If you’re in Nazi Germany right when the Nazis take over, and you’re a regular person, you have a choice to make. Do I just sort of do nothing and just let it happen, do I join them, or do I fight them?” she said. That moral crossroad is exactly where the young supes of Godolkin University find themselves this season.
