FWICE warns Manoj Bajpayee’s film Ghooskhor Pandat producers over controversial title. Neeraj Pandey urged to withdraw title amid public backlash.
Manoj Bajpayee’s upcoming Netflix film, Ghooskhor Pandat, has become the center of a major controversy following its announcement on February 3, 2026. The film, produced under Neeraj Pandey’s banner, has drawn criticism for allegedly targeting a particular community through its title and dialogues. Social media users and activists have condemned the title for being offensive, leading to multiple FIRs being filed against the makers.
FWICE Raises Objections
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has now formally intervened, issuing a warning to the producers of the film. Through an official letter addressed to film and television producer bodies, OTT platforms, and various film associations, FWICE expressed serious concerns regarding the derogatory nature of the title.
In the letter, FWICE stated, “We are deeply concerned about the controversial title ‘Ghooskhor Pandat,’ produced under the Neeraj Pandey banner. The title appears to demean a specific community and their traditional livelihood in a derogatory manner. Such provocative titles can hurt public sentiments, create misunderstandings, and disturb social harmony.”

Possible Consequences
The Federation warned that failure to address the issue promptly could result in serious professional repercussions. FWICE noted, “If the necessary action is not taken, we may advise our affiliated associations and members to distance themselves from any future projects involving Neeraj Pandey. We trust the producer will understand the gravity of this matter and act responsibly for the good of the film industry and society.”

Many have highlighted that entertainment projects should respect cultural sentiments while avoiding language or themes that could insult any community.
