Gold and silver prices fall sharply on MCX amid US-China trade optimism. Check latest gold and silver rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.
Gold and silver prices witnessed a notable decline on Monday, October 27, 2025, as optimism surrounding the progress of a potential US-China trade deal reduced investors’ interest in safe-haven assets. The fall was reflected across both the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and the international market.
Gold Prices on MCX
On the MCX, the gold December 5 contract opened lower by ₹951 or 0.77%, starting at ₹1,22,500 per 10 grams compared to the previous close of ₹1,23,451. The yellow metal further slipped to an intraday low of ₹1,21,822, a drop of ₹1,629.
At last check, gold was trading at ₹1,22,675, down ₹776 or 0.63%, with steady selling pressure observed throughout the session.
Silver Prices on MCX
Following a similar trend, silver futures maturing on December 5, 2025, also began in the red. The contract opened at ₹1,42,910 per kg — down ₹4,560 from the previous close of ₹1,47,470.
During the session, silver touched an intraday high of ₹1,47,479 but soon declined again. Last recorded, silver was trading at ₹1,47,000 per kg, down ₹479 or 0.32%.
Global Gold Market Update
In the international market, COMEX gold prices fell by nearly 1%, trading around USD 4,096.4 per troy ounce.
At 12:20 PM IST, the spot gold price was USD 4,079.27 per ounce, a decline of 0.83% or 34.21 points. The renewed optimism over a possible US-China trade agreement weakened gold’s safe-haven demand among investors.
