Gopal Italia exposes the BJP-Congress Alliance in Gujarat. Learn how the two parties are allegedly trading candidates to stop the Aam Aadmi Party’s growth.
In a scathing attack on the state’s traditional political powers, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Visavadar, Gopal Italia, has alleged a deep-rooted BJP-Congress Alliance in Gujarat. During a recent press conference, Italia questioned why the Congress party, despite its decades-long presence in the state, appears to be surrendering to the ruling BJP, while the relatively new Aam Aadmi Party continues to put up a fierce fight.
The ‘Uncontested’ Winning Mystery
Italia pointed out a startling trend in Gujarat’s electoral landscape: the BJP winning uncontested in numerous locations. “We are still new to Gujarat’s politics, yet we are fighting the BJP with everything we have. Why is it that the Congress, which has been here for so many years, allows the BJP to win without a contest in so many places?” he asked. He attributed this phenomenon to a strategic BJP-Congress Alliance designed to maintain a duopoly and keep third-party challengers at bay.

BJP Providing Candidates for Congress?
To support his claims, the Visavadar MLA cited a shocking admission by a BJP legislator. “Yesterday, a BJP MLA proved my statement true by publicly saying that when the Congress couldn’t find candidates, the BJP provided them with candidates,” Italia revealed. He argued that this cross-party coordination is the clearest evidence yet of a BJP-Congress Alliance in Gujarat working behind the scenes to manipulate the democratic process.
“Vote BJP, but Not AAP”
The AAP leader also recalled a controversial statement made by a Congress MLA, who reportedly urged voters to “Vote for BJP, but don’t give your vote to the Aam Aadmi Party.” Italia claimed that similar “games” were played during the Visavadar elections to confuse the electorate. He emphasized that the primary goal of this BJP-Congress Alliance in Gujarat is to ensure that AAP candidates do not secure victories, fearing the rise of a transparent and pro-people alternative.
Public to Give a Befitting Reply
Despite these tactical maneuvers, Gopal Italia remains confident in the wisdom of the voters. He noted that the people of Visavadar have already seen through these tricks and gave a “befitting reply” by electing an AAP representative. He warned that the wider public is now aware of the BJP-Congress Alliance in Gujarat and will respond decisively to both parties in the upcoming local and state-level polls.
