Governor Haribhau Bagade attended Paryavaran Mahotsav-2025 at Model Village Piplantri, Rajsamand on Environment Conservation. When they arrived, a large number of local women were present with their little girls. Governor Bagade blessed the children and blessed them.
Addressing the function held at Jal Grahan Training Centre, Governor Haribhau Bagade said that due to the efforts of environmentalist Shyam Sunder Paliwal (Padma Shri), greenery is visible all around here today. This is the result of the love, affinity, dedication towards the environment of Shri Shyam Sunder Paliwal, Smt. Anita Paliwal and the villagers here in 19 years. Here the villagers not only planted the plants but also kept them alive, as a result of which trees are seen all around. Planting 111 saplings on the birth of every daughter is a unique example in itself.
Governor Haribhau Bagade said that there should be a village like Piplantri in every tehsil of the state, there is no shortage of land in Rajasthan, if there is a need for will power. The Governor also remembered and saluted the sacrifice of the Bishnoi community for saving the trees under the leadership of Amrita Devi. The Governor appealed to all the villagers not to leave any stone unturned in educating their daughters and said that quality education is a powerful means to come out of poverty.
Environmentalist Shyam Sundar Paliwal (Padma Shri), the facilitator of the Piplantri model, said that 14-15 lakh saplings have been planted in Piplantri till date, including 1 lakh sandalwood trees. There was a time when the ground water level was very low here and there was also a water crisis, but due to water conservation activities now this water level has come up considerably and the water problem has been solved forever. This was possible due to the cooperation of the villagers. He said that today there is abundant water in ponds and wells, migration has stopped in the village, employment has been found in the village itself, Piplantri is promoting many new opportunities along with eco-tourism, dairy business is also flourishing.
In the program, little girls tied rakhi on the wrist of Governor Haribhau Bagade. The Governor gave a message of environmental protection by planting a peepal sapling. Saplings in the name of newborn girls were planted at the venue by their mothers. This was the second occasion when Shri Bagade reached Piplantri.
Referring to the visit of Honble Judges of Supreme Court and Honble Judges of High Court to Piplantri on 5th April, District and Sessions Judge Shri Raghavendra Kachwal informed that the present Chief Justice of India Shri B.R. Gavai was present at the event and he also praised the initiative wholeheartedly.
