Governor Haribhau Bagde: Those who work in the service of society and nation are truly great.
Governor Haribhau Bagde said that those who work not only for themselves, but for the entire society and nation, they are the ones who deserve real respect and become revered by achieving greatness. He was speaking at the 122nd birth anniversary celebrations of Karmaveer Dr. Mamasaheb Jagdale, the founder of Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Barshi Sanstha, at Barshi in Maharashtra on Wednesday. On this occasion, he honoured Padma Vibhushan Shri Raghunath Mashelkar and Padma Vibhushan Shri Anil Kakodkar with Karmaveer Dr. Mamasaheb Jagdale Samaj Parivartan Gaurav Puraskar.
Describing the contribution of these two personalities as significant, Governor Haribhau Bagde said that Dr Mashelkar is an unparalleled scholar in the field of polymer science and engineering, and has made significant contributions to Indian healthcare and innovation. Padma Vibhushan Anil Kakodkar has made exceptional contributions in the field of atomic energy and defence and has been a key member of the Atomic Research Council. Honouring these great personalities inspires others to continue working for the nation.
Recalling the contribution of Dr. Mamasaheb Jagdale in the service of the nation, Governor Haribhau Bagde said that he had established Shri Shivaji Boarding at Barshi for the education of poor children. He dedicated his life to social service, education for the poor and health for the common people. Honouring the important personalities of the country in the name of such a great karmaveer inspires to increase knowledge and do something for the nation.
Governor Haribhau Bagde appealed to the people to adopt the ideals of Mama Saheb and make continuous efforts to give something to the society. He saluted the memory of Dr. Mamasaheb Jagdale and inspired everyone to imbibe his ideals.
