Governor Haribhau Bagade performed Yoga at Central Park on Friday. He gave a message to the youth and people above 50 years of age to lead a healthy life by performing various physical postures associated with yoga and movement every day.
He said that Yoga has been our culture for thousands of years. He said that 21st June has been chosen as the International Day of Yoga because it is the longest day of 365 days in a year. “Yoga is originally from India. It was started by Maharishi Patanjali. Those who do yoga regularly, they remain healthy throughout their life and their life span increases.
The Governor also felicitated Yoga teachers, artists and talented children associated with Yoga teaching by giving them citation and cash award on his behalf besides participating in the mass Yoga and Health Camp organised by Rajasthan Cooperative Federation, Saras Dairy at Central Park on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for Industries, Sports and Youth Affairs, Shri Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said that Yoga establishes unity of mind, intellect and body. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi works continuously and cites Yoga as its inspiration. He said that in this life of Bhagam Bhag, one can stay healthy only through yoga.
MLA Shri Gopal Sharma, while talking about the Indian tradition of Yoga and Yogeshwar Shri Krishna, described the destruction of terrorist bases on the border under the leadership of the Prime Minister as great and said that this was also made possible by Yoga.
At the outset, Smt. Shruti Bhardwaj, Managing Director, in her welcome address, briefed about the activities of SARAS and the work being done for Yoga culture. Saras Dairy Chairman Om Prakash Punia was also present on the occasion. Earlier, Tanmay Singh Rao and Ankush demonstrated rare yoga postures. People also performed mass yoga, exercise under the leadership of Dr. Mahendra Singh Rao.
