Governor Mangubhai Patel has stated that CRISP should assess the employment demand in various industrial sectors of the state and design skill development programs accordingly. Local students should be trained in line with the requirements of regional industries, enabling them to secure jobs within their regions.
Governor Mangubhai Patel was addressing the 29th Foundation Day program of the Centre for Research and Industrial Staff Performance (CRISP) at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium. He congratulated all present on the occasion of CRISP’s 29th Foundation Day. A video message from Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, extending greetings for the occasion, was also displayed during the program. Minister for Higher Education, AYUSH, and Technical Education, Shri Inder Singh Parmar, was also present.
Governor Mangubhai Patel presented commendation certificates to women trainees under the Saksham Yojana and trainees under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. He also visited the exhibition prepared by the trainees and appreciated their work. He said that CRISP has opened new avenues of self-reliance for the youth through skill development programmes under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. This is a commendable effort towards fulfilling Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of building a self-reliant and developed India.
The Governor said, “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is moving forward with the pledge of ‘Skilled India’ and ‘Capable India’ and is emerging as an economic superpower”. India now has the world’s third-largest start-up ecosystem. The state government is also committed to skill development, with special opportunities for girls. As a result, girls’ participation in admissions to institutions like IITs, NITs, and IIITs has been steadily increasing.
‘Four-Lane Model’ Effective for Increasing Employment Opportunities
Governor Mangubhai Patel said that the Four-Lane Model—comprising decentralisation, Swadeshi (self-reliance), entrepreneurship, and cooperatives—can play an effective role in increasing employment opportunities in India. He noted that when cooperative-based industries are active, they also promote social harmony in the country. Even today, agriculture remains the largest employer for India’s youth, with around 35% still dependent on it. Nearly 11 crore people in India are engaged in self-employment through small and cottage industries, contributing over 20% of total employment. The Governor urged CRISP to conduct new programs that focus not only on skill development but also on skill upgradation.
First Divisional CRISP Centre to be Established in Ujjain: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, in his video message, announced that CRISP centrs will be expanded to the divisional level. He said that with the growth of industrial and investment activities in the state, the demand for skilled workers is continuously rising. Setting up CRISP centers at the divisional level will provide essential skill upgradation training, benefiting the state’s youth by connecting them with employment-oriented activities, bringing positive change to their lives and contributing to the state and nation’s progress.
The Chief Minister also shared that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will be visiting Badnawar, Dhar, on August 25 for the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the PM MITRA Park. In the future, there will be a higher demand for skilled workers in this region. Therefore, the establishment of divisional CRISP centers will begin from Ujjain.
CRISP: A Premier Skill Development Centre
Minister for Higher Education, AYUSH and Technical Education Shri Inder Singh Parmar described CRISP as a prestigious centre for skill development. He stressed that the institution should start new courses in line with changing needs.
CRISP signed MoUs with Barkatullah University (Bhopal), Krantisurya Tantya Bhil University (Khargone) and Devi Ahilya University (Indore) on the occasion. Governor Shri Patel was felicitated with a bouquet, shawl and memento by CRISP Managing Director Dr. Shrikant Patil. Shri Patel also presented details of the institution’s objectives, activities, and achievements. CRISP Director Shri Amul Vaidya delivered vote of thanks. The event was attended by Kulguru Shri Suresh Kumar Jain (Barkatullah University), Kulguru Shri Rajiv Tripathi (RGPV University), CRISP officials, employees and trainees.
CRISP’s Training Achievements
CRISP is one of the leading organizations in the state. It was established in 1997 under the Indo-German Technical Cooperation Agreement as an autonomous institution of the Department of Technical Education and Skill Development, over the past 28 years, it has been actively engaged in skill development, industrial training, capacity building, and technical education. CRISP has trained nearly 1.5 lakh students, 1,500 trainers, and over 10,000 state government officers and employees.
