Gurpreet Singh Bhullar : After a mysterious blast-like sound was heard near the abandoned Police Post on Fatehgarh Churrian Road in Amritsar, Commissioner of Police (CP) Amritsar, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, promptly visited the site to assess the situation.
Initial investigations indicate that the sound may not have resulted from a grenade blast, though authorities have not ruled out any possibilities. “The impact is minimal, and initial observations do not suggest a blast,” stated CP Bhullar. “However, we are thoroughly investigating all aspects to determine the exact cause of the noise.”
CP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar mentioned that a police checkpoint (Naka) had been set up on Fatehgarh Churrian Road near the main Amritsar bypass. Officers on duty heard the noise and responded, discovering a minor mark on the road about 20-30 feet from the intersection.
He further noted that the police inspected the area, and preliminary findings showed no damage to the nearby wall.
Clarifying the situation, he emphasized that there was no active police post at the location, as it had been shut down months ago.
The CP reassured citizens not to panic and cautioned against spreading rumors or creating unnecessary fear.
