Punjab Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO has highlighted what he described as major changes in government school education under the Mann government’s education reforms. He said improved infrastructure and focused development have helped strengthen the learning environment for students in Jandiala.
According to Harbhajan Singh ETO, the Government Girls’ School at Guru Angad in the Jandiala constituency has received special attention and has been transformed into a School of Eminence.
Government Girls’ School Gets School of Eminence Status
Harbhajan Singh ETO said the Government Girls’ School in Guru Angad has been developed as a School of Eminence with special priority. The initiative is aimed at providing students with improved educational infrastructure and a better environment for learning.
The minister said strengthening government schools and upgrading their facilities are important parts of the Punjab government’s education-focused approach.
Student Performance Shows Improvement
Highlighting the academic performance of students, Harbhajan Singh ETO said the impact of improved educational infrastructure can also be seen in examination results.
As per the figures shared by the minister, 250 students scored more than 80 per cent marks in 2022. He presented the achievement as an indication of the progress being made at the school.

Number of Students Scoring 90% Rises to 509
The minister further highlighted the continued improvement in students’ academic performance. He said the number of students securing 90 per cent marks has increased to 509 this year.
Harbhajan Singh ETO said the rise in high-scoring students reflects the continuous progress being made at the institution and the benefits of creating a stronger educational environment.
Focus on Better Government School Infrastructure
