Harbhajan Singh: A initial pay scale for workers of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has been announced by the Punjab government.
Junior engineers now receive an initial salary of Rs 19,260 instead of Rs 17,450.
Harbhajan Singh ETO, the minister of Punjab Power, made the announcement in response to the ongoing demand from PSPCL personnel to have their wage scale matched with other Punjab government employees. He said that PSPCL had released the circular pertaining to the updated pay scale.
He continued by saying that group 14 to 16 now includes divisional superintendent accounts, revenue accountants, etc., and that their initial pay has been increased from Rs. 17960 to Rs. 19260. Additionally, group 15 to 17 now includes Superintendent Grade-2, PA, SAS Accounts, and other positions, raising their starting pay from Rs 18690 to Rs 19260.
The Punjab government, headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to the welfare of its workers, as Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO reaffirmed. “Our government is dedicated to addressing the genuine concerns and demands of all employees, ensuring fair compensation and recognition for their hard work and dedication,” said the Power Minister.
Minister ETO underlined, “It is essential to ensure that the pay scales are in line with the industry standards and that our employees receive competitive compensation,” emphasizing the government’s responsiveness to the requirements of its workforce. Our dedication to the well-being of PSPCL staff is demonstrated by our decision to raise their starting pay scale.”
The Punjab Government received expressions of gratitude from the PSPCL personnel. “We would want to express our profound gratitude to Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for their swift responses to our concerns. They said that their sincere dedication to our welfare is demonstrated by the rise in the starting salary scale.
