Chandigarh, July 15 –
Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal flagged off an AC bus filled with pilgrims from Yamunanagar district to Ayodhya Dham under the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana on Monday. This bus carried 26 pilgrims who will visit Ayodhya.

Kanwar Pal said that a divine and grand temple of Lord Shri Rama has been built in Ayodhya, which is a matter of great fortune for us. Under the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana, devotees from the state will get free darshan of pilgrimage sites in the country. So far, dozens of AC Volvo buses have been sent by the government from various districts across the state, and hundreds of pilgrims have visited Ayodhya and other pilgrimage sites. This unique scheme also honours the faith of the devotees, he said.
On this occasion, the Minister also interacted with the pilgrims going to Ayodhya Dham and extended his best wishes to them. The pilgrims expressed to the Minister that it is a great initiative by the government to make special arrangements for those who cannot afford to visit pilgrimage sites due to financial constraints. It is a significant initiative by the government.
Later, interacting with media persons, Sh. Kanwar Pal said that Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh continuously brings plans to fruition for the upliftment of the poor. The Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana is also a great honour for the poor and needy. He said that these pilgrims were also provided with a kit containing the holy book Ramcharitmanas, drinking water, a notebook, and a pen, and arrangements for their accommodation and food have been made by the government.
Notably, the State government initiated the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana to provide free pilgrimage for devotees. Under this scheme, trips to religious sites are being organized. To avail of the scheme, the age of the interested persons should be over 60 years, and the family income should not exceed Rs. 1.80 lakh. Registration on the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana portal is mandatory. So far, several beneficiaries have already availed of this scheme.
