Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh instructed police officers to ensure a robust law and order situation in the state. He emphasized taking strict action against criminals, particularly targeting gang networks. The drive against gangsters and other criminals in the state should be relentless and thorough.
The Haryana Chief Minister was chairing a review meeting of senior officers of the police department regarding law and order situation in the state here today.
The Haryana Chief Minister, while taking a tough stance on incidents of crimes including ransom, said that the presence of police in the field should be such that it creates fear among criminals and they do not come out due to fear.
The Haryana Chief Minister instructed the police to take decisive action against criminals within a week to curb all criminal incidents. He added that he would personally review the crime rate in another meeting with the police department after this period.
Senior officers should also meet the victims to maintain the public-friendly image of the police
In his directives to police officers, the Chief Minister said that senior police officials should personally meet crime victims to enhance public trust in the force. He also stressed the importance of taking even the smallest pieces of information seriously to strengthen the police’s image among the public, ensuring swift and decisive action.
Take more strict action against drug peddlers
While instructing police officers to faithfully discharge their duties, the Chief Minister emphasized that strict action must be taken against those involved in the illegal drug trade across the state. He also called for the expedited confiscation of drug dealers’ property.
Issuing instructions to the Director General of Police, the Chief Minister stated that seminars should be organized for civil society, including colleges, to inform the general public and the younger generation about the three new criminal laws implemented.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Sh TVSN Prasad, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sh Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Sh Anurag Rastogi, Director General of Police Sh Shatrujit Kapur, Director General of Prisons Mohd Akil, CID Chief Sh Alok Mittal, Additional Director General of Police O P Singh, A S Chawla, Mamta Singh, Sanjay Singh and other officers were also present.
