Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the Teej festival is part of our cultural heritage and it is our responsibility to preserve it. Teej is a festival for women, celebrated with pride and joy, deeply connected to our culture.
The Haryana Chief Minister was addressing the people present at the Teej festival organised at his residence today.
Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya, Punjab Governor and Administrator, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, and his wife Smt. Anita Kataria, along with Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini and his wife, Smt. Suman Saini, visited and praised the Haryana exhibition held on this occasion. A short film on the Teej festival by the Department of Information, Public Relations, Language, and Culture was also shown during the festival.
The Haryana Chief Minister stated that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has envisioned “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” during the monsoon season to combat air pollution. He appealed to the citizens to participate in this campaign and plant a tree on every occasion and festival.
He also said that with this festival, the series of festivals begins in the country. The Teej festival brings colours of love and unity into our society, so we should celebrate it with great enthusiasm to instil good values in future generations as well. The Haryana government is committed to promoting this festival.
Haryana Chief Minister’s wife, Smt. Suman Saini said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has implemented many schemes and programs to empower women. The Chief Minister is also continuing this tradition in the state, she added. The Chief Minister gifted “Kothali-Sindhara” to the women attending the Teej festival.
The Haryana exhibition featured activities like colourful bangles, mehendi, traditional dresses like ghagra chunari, and ancient utensils from RakhiGarhi and other activities. Women also enjoyed swings and delicious dishes during the Teej festival.
Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh. Gian Chand Gupta and his wife, Smt. Bimla Gupta, Minister of State for School Education, Smt. Seema Trikha, former MP, Smt. Sunita Duggal, Smt. Banto Kataria, BJP State President, Sh. Mohan Lal Badoli’s wife Smt. Geeta Kaushik, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Smt. Ashima Brar, Director General, Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Additional Director of Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department, Smt. Varsha Khangwal, former Minister, Smt. Kavita Jain, former MLA, Smt. Latika Sharma, State President, BJP Mahila Morcha, Usha Priyadarshini, Babita Phogat, Saroj Sihag, Sumitra Chauhan, Sushma Gupta and many other women participated in the festival.
