Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Approves Major Water Supply and Sewerage Projects Worth Over ₹3,500 Crore in 57th WSSB Meeting

 Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini -cum-President, Water Supply and Sewerage Board (WSSB), Sh. Nayab Singh Saini chaired the 57th meeting of WSSB of Public Health Engineering Department. Total 814 estimates of rural water supply scheme were approved for Rs 2100.02 Cr.

For urban water supply scheme 120 estimates were approved for Rs 40.13 Cr and 42 estimates of sewerage schemes were approved for Rs. 152. 55 Cr. for urban areas.

Under AMRUT 2.0 Programmes, 34 new schemes approved for Rs 1315.61 Cr. in water supply schemes for Urban areas and 5 new sewerage schemes for Rs 754.20 Cr. were approved. An additional amount of Rs. 70 Cr. was approved for strengthening of drainage system under flood works programme in urban areas. Also, 4 new schemes were approved for Rs 14.20 Cr. for drainage system.

A new water supply project costing Rs 352.20 crore has been approved to address the chronic water shortages in the villages of Serohi Beholi, Musnota, and Asrawas, as well as the sporadic water issues in Nangal Dargu. This aims to construct new canal-based water works in the three villages and improve the existing system in Nangal Dargu by sourcing water from the Ateli Distributory. The project will ensure a reliable and adequate drinking water supply for 39 villages, benefiting around 170,000 residents. Additionally, Nangal Chaudhary town will also gain from this development.

A new integrated Ranney well-based water supply scheme has been approved to tackle the severe drinking water crisis affecting 108 villages in the Nuh and Palwal districts, where brackish water and lack of canal networks have led to reliance on tubewells. The scheme, inspired by previous successes, will deliver water at different rates: 135 LPCD + 15% UAF for five larger villages (Bisru, Bichore, Nai, Singer, and Pingwan) and the town of Punhana, enabling sewerage system installation, and 70 LPCD for the remaining 103 villages. This project aims to provide a sustainable solution to the water quality and scarcity issues in the region. A major water supply project, costing Rs. 744.60 crore is set to benefit 103 villages and 5 Mahagram villages. The project aims to significantly improve the drinking water situation, promoting health and prosperity.

CM also directed that the work must be completed within prescribed time with quality standards.

Among others, the meeting was attended by CPSCM Rajesh Khullar, Administrative Secretaries of various departments and senior officers.
