Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini meets Paris Olympics bronze medalists Ms. Manu Bhakar and Shri Sarabjot Singh
Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, today met Paris Olympics medal winners Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh at his residence, Sant Kabir Kutir.
The CM Nayab Singh Saini felicitated both athletes and extended his best wishes for their future endeavours. Sarabjot Singh, and Manu Bhaker, accompanied with their parents and coaches, shared their experiences at the Paris Olympics with the Chief Minister. Minister of State for Sports, Sh. Sanjay Singh, was also present on this occasion.
The Chief Minister expressed immense pride in the achievements of Haryana’s athletes, emphasising that whether on national or international stages, they have consistently brought glory to both the state and the country. He reiterated the present state government’s commitment to supporting sports and athletes in Haryana, acknowledging their hard work and dedication.
The Chief Minister said that he feels very happy to meet both the players. He said that Manu Bhaker earned two bronze medals in shooting, while Sarabjot Singh also brought pride to the nation with his bronze medal. The entire nation is proud of both our players. He said that soon all the medal winner players will be honored in a state-level ceremony. Besides this, the Chief Minister also congratulated Neeraj Chopra for winning a silver medal, and three players in hockey secured bronze medals.
The Chief Minister said that Haryana, which has a population share of less than 2 percent, has once again brought glory to the nation in the Olympics. Out of the five medals won by the country so far, four have been won by athletes from Haryana, which is a matter of pride for the entire state, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Manu Bhaker, emphasized the unique cultural and dietary habits of the people of Haryana, which she believes are instrumental in developing the athletic prowess of the state’s youth. She said that the rich culture and good eating habits of Haryana have significantly contributed to the development of sports talent among the state’s players.
She further praised the state’s sports policy, calling it the best in the country. She said that the Haryana government has always provided us with the best possible support to nurture our talent. Encouraging children to play sports from a young age is deeply ingrained in Haryana’s culture, she added.
Looking ahead, Bhaker expressed her determination to bring home a gold medal in the future. She also acknowledged the consistent support she has received not just from her parents and coaches, but also from the state government, which has been a cornerstone of her success.

Echoing Bhaker’s sentiments, Sarabjot Singh also lauded the cash rewards and incentives provided by the Haryana government. He said that the cash rewards given by Haryana are unprecedented. The sports policy of Haryana is the best in the country, and the support from the state government definitely boosts the morale of the players, Sarabjot remarked.
Sarabjot Singh also highlighted Haryana’s dominance in the recent Paris Olympics, noting that the majority of the medals won by Indian athletes were secured by players from Haryana. He said that exceptional support provided by the Haryana government, has been instrumental in propelling the state’s athletes to the global stage.
