Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini chairs HPPC meeting, approves Rs 157 crore projects for urban local bodies, sanitation, garbage collection, and municipal development.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini chaired the High-Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPPC) for Urban Local Bodies on Tuesday, where 22 agenda items of the Urban Local Bodies Department were reviewed. During the meeting, the committee approved 18 key projects worth over Rs 157 crore, resulting in savings of approximately Rs 7.91 crore.
Focus on Sanitation and Garbage Management
Among the approved works, Rs 13.70 crore has been allocated for door-to-door garbage collection and cleanliness initiatives across 11 municipalities and municipal councils. Panipat will see improvements in sewer cleaning using modern technology and unclogging of blocked pipelines. Other municipalities, including Siwani, Hisar, and Barwala, will benefit from enhanced Solid Waste Management systems and proper waste disposal mechanisms.

Urban Development Across the State
The committee also approved sanitation and municipal system improvements in Bawal, Palwal, Hansi, Jind, Sohna, Pataudi, Jhajjar, Hodal, Gurugram, Bandhwari, and Rohtak. These projects aim to strengthen urban infrastructure and enhance civic services for residents.
CM’s Directives for Efficiency and Accountability
CM Nayab Singh Saini directed officials to ensure complete cleanliness in all urban local bodies and closely monitor project execution. Vendors must strictly follow standards while using e-rickshaws, tractors, and dumpers for garbage collection. Emphasis was laid on segregation of household waste followed by proper disposal.
The CM Nayab Singh Saini announced that commendation certificates will be awarded to vendors performing well, and strict action will be taken against those failing to meet standards.
This initiative highlights Haryana’s commitment to improving urban sanitation, solid waste management, and municipal services, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for its citizens.
