Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini announces government colleges every 20 km, AI hubs in Panchkula and Gurugram, and major education reforms.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced several major initiatives to strengthen the state’s education system, with a focus on improving access to higher education, promoting technology and supporting talented students.
One of the key announcements is the plan to establish a government college every 20 kilometres across Haryana. The government will also develop a modern Model Sanskriti College in every district to ensure that students, particularly girls, can continue their education after completing school.
Government Colleges to Be Established Every 20 Km
CM Nayab Singh Saini said that distance should not become a barrier to higher education, especially for girls. Many students discontinue their studies after school because colleges are located far from their homes.
To address this issue, the Haryana government plans to establish a government college every 20 kilometres. The move is expected to make higher education more accessible to students living in rural and remote areas.
Along with this, every district will get a Model Sanskriti College equipped with modern facilities, providing students with better opportunities to pursue higher education close to home.
Super-100 Scheme to Select 500 Meritorious Students
The Chief Minister also announced an expansion of the state’s Super-100 programme. The number of students selected under the scheme will now increase from 400 to 500.
The initiative aims to provide talented students with better educational opportunities and support them in preparing for competitive examinations. Increasing the intake will allow more deserving students to benefit from the programme.
AI Hubs to Come Up in Panchkula and Gurugram
Technology will also receive greater attention under Haryana’s education plans. CM Saini announced that AI hubs will be established in Panchkula and Gurugram in line with the objectives of the National Education Policy.
The proposed AI hubs will help students gain exposure to artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. The government aims to prepare young learners for the changing requirements of the future job market.
Wi-Fi Connectivity Planned for 55,000 Schools
The state government is also working on improving digital infrastructure in schools. According to the Chief Minister, around 55,000 schools are being targeted for Wi-Fi connectivity.
The government is also focusing on establishing Model Sanskriti Schools at intervals of around 10 kilometres and Chief Minister’s Schools of Excellence and Early English Schools at intervals of around five kilometres.

₹20 Crore Focus on Research and Entrepreneurship
CM Nayab Singh Saini said that he recently held a meeting with vice-chancellors of universities across Haryana and directed them to encourage research based on innovative ideas generated by students.
The government has also announced a ₹20 crore budget for this purpose. The initiative is intended to encourage students to pursue research, develop entrepreneurial skills and create employment opportunities rather than remain dependent solely on traditional jobs.
Haryana’s Sporting Achievements Highlighted
During the programme, the Chief Minister also expressed happiness over India’s performance at the Commonwealth Games, where the country secured a total of 39 medals.
He particularly praised Haryana’s athletes, noting that the state won seven medals, including five gold medals secured by women athletes. The achievement, he said, reflects the growing contribution of Haryana’s daughters to the country’s sporting success.
