In a significant step towards women’s empowerment, the Haryana government has announced the launch of the ‘Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana,’ set to take effect from September 25, 2025. Under this ambitious scheme, eligible women aged 23 and above will receive a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,100 to support their economic independence and overall well-being.
Key Highlights of Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana
The primary objective of the scheme is to strengthen women financially, promote social security, and encourage their active participation in society. This initiative aims to uplift women by providing them with monetary support, thereby enabling them to play a more prominent role in their families and communities.
The announcement comes as a fulfillment of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) pre-election promise made during the October 2024 Haryana Assembly elections. After winning the elections, the party has now turned its promise into reality by implementing this scheme.
Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana Eligibility Criteria
Women must be at least 23 years old.
The annual family income should not exceed ₹1,00,000.
Beneficiaries must have been residents of Haryana for at least 15 years. If the woman has moved from another state, her husband must be a resident of Haryana.
Multiple eligible women from the same family can avail of the benefit.
Each woman must have an active bank account.
Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana Application Process
Applications for the scheme will be accepted exclusively through the ‘Lado Laxmi App,’ developed by Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (HARTRON). The app will streamline the entire process, from application submission to benefit disbursal and grievance redressal.
Applicants will need to provide personal and family details, including Aadhaar, residence certificate, income proof, electricity connection, vehicle ownership, and bank account information.
Verification and Benefit Distribution
Within 15 days of application submission, the Citizen Resource Information Department (CRID) will verify the information. Eligible women will be listed, and their details sent to the respective departments for approval.
The monthly aid of ₹2,100 will be directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism using the Public Finance Management System (PFMS). Beneficiaries will undergo monthly face verification and liveness detection via the app to ensure continuous receipt of benefits.
Grievance Redressal and Monitoring
The ‘Lado Laxmi App’ also enables women to lodge complaints directly. The government has committed to resolving grievances within seven days. District Social Welfare Officers will act as the primary contact point, with Additional Deputy Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners serving as appellate authorities.
A governing body chaired by the Chief Minister will oversee the scheme’s implementation and meet quarterly to review progress. The governing body includes the Service Minister and Chief Secretary. Additionally, the Chief Secretary will lead the executive body responsible for daily management, monitoring, and improvements.
Future Expansion
Initially, the Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana targets women from families with an annual income below ₹1,00,000. Plans are underway to expand the scheme to include more income groups, enabling broader coverage and impact.
Impact on Women’s Lives
Receiving ₹2,100 monthly will significantly help economically weaker women and small families manage household expenses, children’s education, and other essential needs, fostering greater financial security and independence.
