During a high-level review meeting held in Chandigarh, the Health Minister emphasized that illegal sex determination practices will not be tolerated under any circumstances. She directed officials to ensure swift and strict enforcement of laws against offenders.
The minister underlined that protecting the girl child and maintaining gender balance in society remains a top priority for the state government.

The government has also directed health authorities to intensify awareness campaigns across rural and urban areas. Special emphasis will be placed on monitoring diagnostic centers and taking action against illegal ultrasound clinics.
